Effluent monitoring

Industrial and municipal effluents throughout North America are regulated to meet defined physical, chemical, and toxicological criteria. In order to comply with these regulations they must perform certain Aquatic toxicity tests. These tests are extremely important as they are used to measure, predict, and control the discharge of materials that might be harmful to aquatic life.

Testing options range from acute lethality to chronic sub-lethal bioassays to specialized tests.

Acute Testing:

  • Rainbow trout - LC50 or Screening
  • Daphnia magna - LC50 or Screening

Chronic sub-lethal testing:

  • Ceriodaphnia dubia
  • Fathead minnow
  • Algae - Selanastrum
  • Lemna minor
